1st flight of my Homebuilt Airplane |
Lead | |
|
I made the 1st flight today of the airplane I built myself. I can't believe it has no roll tendencies or other rigging issues at all it flies hands off. I flew for 1/2 hour but the landing was not great, something to work on!! I started building 19 years ago this coming May. It climbs like crazy, Home sick angel as they say.

Great news, DB! It's good to hear you're still in one piece too.
BTW, the plane that my coworker flies is a Horizon II He was impressed when I mentioned what you had built. It occurs to me that when you started building, you were as old as I am now. |

Sweet ride, Daniel.....looks great!! My choice for color would be Chartreuse Yellow if you haven't finished painting it yet.....but that's just me. Keep up the great work. And try to do a fly-by of Ohio sometime!

Super!!!!
Questions... 1)How fast does it go? 2)Can you do acrobatics? 3)How many G's can it take? 4)What is it's range? Altitude limit? Are you carrying supplemental Oxygen for high altitude? 5)How many passengers? Can I have a ride? 6)Thought about floats? Then you can go fishing from your plane. Strong work, Bud. Keep it up. Super!!!!
Questions... 1)How fast does it go? 250 - 260 MPH, not sure yet 2)Can you do acrobatics? YES, was designed for that 3)How many G's can it take? 6 positive, 4 negative 4)What is it's range? 1500 miles Altitude limit? 25,000 ft. Are you carrying supplemental Oxygen for high altitude? I have made provisions for an O2 system in the future. 5)How many passengers? 2 seater Can I have a ride? Sure, after I fly off the mandatory 40 hrs solo. 6)Thought about floats? Then you can go fishing from your plane. I have a friend in Alaska with that. It would slow me way down and besides they would be WAY UGLY. BTW, I have about 4,500 labor hours into it. I plan to paint it in May or June. |

Wow N789DB!
I like how you have N789DB painted on the side of your aircraft. Amazing .....I wouldn't even know where to start with a project like that. Let alone have the faith that I put it together right....enough to fly in the sky. CONGRATS!!! God Bless! S4T |
