I have been dating someone for 3 years who was raised in the German branch. He is not a member and has not gone to the church since he was 18 he is now 26. I want to know why I am not allowed to eat at his parents house? But if we were to get married I could? What is the difference? Please explain.

The German Apostolic Christian Church is a very closed community. Outside infulences are discouraged and to be avoided. That may not be the reason, but it may be a factor. I encourage you to ask questions. Ask yourself, do I really want to have this factor in my marriage? If you think you can change it, I'm sorry you can't and won't. I don't mean to discourage you from marriage, just think about what your life will be like.

Also that the Bible says you shouldn't be "unequally yoked" with unbelievers. If he's not attending a church, it probably means he isn't a Christian, or at least that he is not spiritually healthy. Just my 2 cents which may or may not apply. Also, I would say ask questions. If they have no love for you as you are, then is it reasonable to expect them to love you if you married him?

Can you visit his parents house at all? Or they allow you to visit just not to eat? I think the reason is because his parents don't agree with/believe in dating and that's why they won't let you eat with them. I'm sure if his parents met you in a different setting you would be allowed to eat with them. |

my aunts and uncles go to that church and i barely have any contact with them. my grandma was kick out of the church and now she needs a lot of help and my aunts will not even help her. my dad has to do everything. i think there marriges are funny. my cousin gos there and he married his third cousin and now they both go there. one of my aunts has 16 kids.

The German Apostolic Church is today what all Apostolic Churches were like in years past. If you wish to put down this group of believers (Christians) you are also putting down our forefathers. Elders, Ministers, and our Grandparents of the A.C. Church.
