I have always been curious who are the ac people who wrote songs in the red book. In the blurb at the front it mentions many people of our faith have added to this book. does anyone know who these people are/were?

All the other songs are written by non AC's. I could be wrong on this. In the brown book, it was originally blue on the outside. This book was put together by Henry Beer from Milford Indiana. He wrote several songs in this book. I don't think he wrote the music. He wrote the words and found tunes to put them to. From my research, there are not any AC's who have composed the classic hymns we all love and recognize. Most of those composers were not AC and held a college degree in music.

Souder wrote #474. There may even be others. Also many of the melodies to Henry Beer's songs were composed by an "M.Y.R." This is Mary Yergler Rassi, who composed the tune to "Creation" in the brown book, and several tunes in the revised Zion's Harp. She was from an Indiana ACCA church.
