I was reading the ACCN Statement of Faith as found on the Foundation Website and in the 2007 Phone Directory (both are identical, as are older versions of the phone book) and I think I came across a typo that is in both.
Here it is, with the suspect typo in bold:
#15 is about the Great Commission (GC), and appears to say that the GC is an invitation for the world to be saved, and that Christ, surrendered "His personal ambitions" to take the Gospel to "all the world."
- In other words the GC means that God invites the world to be saved. And sent Christ to proclaim that. (This is already stated in statements #6 and #7)
I think that the bolded "He" in the quote is really supposed to be lower case, and that what is said after the dash refers to us and not Christ.
I understand the GC to be God's invitation for the believers to "go"(1) to teach the world of Christ. Asking us to surrender our "personal ambitions", to take the Gospel to "all the world."
- In other words The GC means that God commanded His followers to go and proclaim the Gospel in the world.
I hope I am not nitpicking, even though I am criticizing the case of a single character. But it does change the meaning quite a bit.
