Okay so i am a convert of the AC church and am having a boy problem. So the case... I have always been very close to guys, they have always been my best friends. So i met this guy at a college weekend and ever since then we have talked. I even forgot what he looked like and had to re meet him at an event. And then ever since that we have emailed every single day, and not small emails fairly long, actually very long, and more than just one a day usually. Somtimes he calls me about once a week and when we talk, we talk for about an hour on average sometimes more somtimes less. I have prayed about it and really don't know waht to do. I was thinking that maybe i should ask him what he thinks, but i am scared. Anyways Please let me know what you think! THanks so much!

I see that your question has been sitting out here a while unanswered and Im not sure where you still stand, but wanted to respond.
Honestly, the best advice I can give you is to pray for guidance and to search your heart. When I was an A/C member, I had friendships with brothers as well. Growing up and even today, Ive always been able to maintain male/female friendships without my heart getting involved. However, this is a very individual experience for each of us and it would be irresponsible for anyone to tell you that its just fine to continue your relationship not knowing the heart of either of you. Perhaps you are unable to maintain a platonic relationship as easily as another. Ask yourself how you really feel and what your expectations are from this relationship and pray for the Lords guidance. Praying for you. |

<agreeing with "A Cubs Fan"> Yes, definitely pray for guidance. God hears your prayers and He DOES guide each step you take. He even knows the number of the hairs on your head!!! (Luke 12:6-7)
Psalm 103:13-14 says that God has compassion on those who fear Him because He remembers that we are only made of dust. Take your questions about this guy to God, He will help you!!! Here are some thoughts from my own perspective (i.e. maybe not directly from the Bible): 1. Don't try to push anything. If he truly is interested in a long term relationship with you, he will let you know. 2. Ask your parents what they think. They are usually able to view the situation in a better light than ourselves. (because they're older, wiser) 3. Don't base decisions on your feelings, those change from day to day, year to year. 4. I'm not sure how old you are..........but if you're young, give yourself plenty of time before getting involved in a serious relationship. A person needs plenty of time to develop emotionally, mentally..............plus you need to have fun with your single friends while you can!! I will say a prayer for you sista!!! Belle |

This is not related to this topic, but wasnt sure where to add it. Ive just finished reading some of your testimony in another thread and it was so similar to mine that I had to mention it. I was also taken up in the ACCA church (Tremont, IL) in 1987. Became a member because I thought I should; not because of any personal calling. Was a member for 10 years. Finally found peace, a better understand of Grace, and began a true walk with the Lord once I decided to worship elsewhere. Anyway, I truly felt that I was reading my own testimony while reading yours and just wanted to share. God Bless |
